On my way to taking my girls to school today (later than usual, I might add) I took a moment from my hurried thoughts to notice the snow on the highway. The wind was blowing it to and fro and as it moved it looked as if it were clouds moving across the sky. It gave the impression that we were flying above the ground, above the madness of the morning rush, above the reality of the moment. I felt such peace. What little wonders God has for each of us to discover if we’d only take the time.

Today’s lesson: Take a moment to find your peace in the midst of madness.

My daughter’s day was made when she glanced up at the sky on her way to school. What did she discover that gave her so much delight? Pink and purple clouds. In my adult educational motivated mind I started to explain to her that they were not actually pink and purple; and give an explanation of the reflection of the sun off of water, etc. Then I caught myself. Why ruin the moment? She was so happy that God had made clouds in her favorite color and that was enough for her. Besides, she’ll get the science lesson another day.
